This page is dedicated to our students who have achieved excellence within their Shōtōkan KaraTe Dō training. They have undergone rigorous practical and theoretical assessments. Subsequently, achieving Yudansha status. Yu Dan Sha means someone that holds a high ranking belt.

Amarah was one of the founding members of our Dojo and has been with us from the very beginning. Her Karate journey over the last 12 years has been exemplary. She has become a key member of our Dojo family and provides valuable support through instructing and mentoring students. Next year Amarah is planning to run our new EmptyHands Fight Club Dojo in Redbridge. Her penultimate goal is to become a Sensei one day. This year she carried out critical research in the benefits of Karate on mental health, leveraging from her professional and academic background. Her self-belief and determination has led her to achieve excellence in her work and academic life. She holds a 1st Class Honours Degree in Psychology and is planning to study for a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. Professionally, Amarah works as a mental health counsellor in hospitals.

Rayyan started his Karate journey at EmptyHands in 2011. Over the past 7 years his attendance and loyalty to the Dojo has been exemplary. Rayyan has often managed to achieve above average standards within his Kumite training. He has also been noticed by external instructors for his technical abilities and good form. He joined our black belt programme in 2017 and has worked incredibly hard towards achieving his Yudansha goal. He has often mentored his peers and provided support during our classes. Rayyan is a high achiever at school, aspiring to top all of his subjects; he is always busy working very hard in everything he does.

Hamza is one of the founding members of our Dojo from 2006. He started training under Azeem Sensei privately in 2004. He has been a devout and loyal student of EmptyHands and continues his journey today as one of our main Instructor’s and senior students. He has played an active role in developing our Dojo and continues his CPD in Shiatsu/Internal Martial Arts. Hamza is a testament to the hard work that is required to become a true traditional Karateka!

Dhaniyal started his KaraTe training in 2008 and has been a dedicated and loyal student. He has had an excellent attendance record, taking part in many Dojo workshops and events. He joined our black belt programme in 2015 and has worked incredibly hard towards achieving his Yudansha goal. His determination and pursuit for excellence was admired and recognised by his peers.

Irm started her Karate career in 2006 when EmptyHands first opened it doors. She worked diligently as an ambassador of Karate promoting the philosophy and aim of our Dojo. Irm has been actively involved in the management of EmptyHands alongside coaching and mentoring beginner students. She is one of our Senior Instructors and founder/teacher of our EmptyHands Yoga classes.

Ismael started his Karate journey at EmptyHands in 2006. Over the past 9 years His attendance and loyalty to the Dojo has been exemplary. Ismael has often managed to achieve above average standards within his training. He has also been noticed by external instructors for his technical abilities and good form. In recent years Ismael has really found himself in terms of his Karate style and preferences within the syllabus. He is a shining example of how a Karateka should persistently pursue his goals and aspirations.

Dasina joined EmptyHands in 2008 after training in other Martial Arts. She swiftly integrated into our Dojo and became an excellent student with extraordinary abilities. She also joined our Instructor Apprenticeship Programme in 2010 and after much hard work became an Assistant Instructor. Dasina is an intelligent individual with Yudansha like quality; she is always in pursuit for excellence in everything she does. Dasina brings a much needed rigour to an art that is indeed changing with the times!

Ishaaq started his Karate journey during the early days of EmptyHands Dojo. His attendance and loyalty to the Dojo has been exemplary. Ishaaq has often managed to achieve above average standards within his training. He has developed technically and has found his niche within Karate. Ishaaq has the potential to become a champion Karateka in Traditional and Sport Karate arena.

Abdullah has been working incredibly hard over the past 5 to 6 years. He has become one of the most technically gifted students within our Dojo. Overall his training and gradings have always been excellent. Abdullah has been often noted by external instructors during their visits. He has consistently achieved positive feedback and has a true heart of a Karateka.

Shihan has been working incredibly hard over the past 5 to 6 years. He has become one of the most technically gifted students within our Dojo. Overall his training and gradings have always been excellent and has been often noted by external instructors during their visits. Shihan is a brave individual with Great Spirit and tenacity making him a role model for his juniors.

Mahwish was one of the founding members of our Dojo in 2006. She started her training in 2002 at the Poon Dojo in Stratford. Over the years Mahwish has worked very hard in developing her Martial Arts training. She also recently completed our Instructor training programme and is currently perusing other interests.
