Profile - Sabrina Alam

Sabrina Alam is currently attending her third year at Empty Hands Karate School and has been given the opportunity to join the apprenticeship (Deshi) program. She aspires to become a highly – qualified instructor.

The role of a Deshi requires a range of skills from assisting beginners to ensuring the dojo is set up in a traditional and safe manner. She is very passionate about helping others learn and passing on knowledge to her younger peers.

Karate has given her the confidence and discipline to do well in her academic studies and interests. At present she is in her first year of GCSE studies with a keen interest in Physics and English. Sabrina also takes part in a variety of extra-curricular activities involving music, sports, voluntary and political work.
