Profile - Irm Mushtaq BA (Hons), MA

Irm takes the lead in Dojo managerial activities; she is the first point of contact for the school, her friendly and dynamic approach helps new comers feel welcome and comfortable with their registration and induction training programme. Irm is an experienced assistant instructor and manages our beginner classes. She is ultimately responsible for ensuring all new comers learn their basics (kihon).

Irm has a keen interest in Bikram Yoga, it helps support the health aspects of her Karate training. Recently she also travelled to Japan where she had the opportunity to observe a Karate lesson by Osaka Sensei at the JKA.

As a student she was an active volunteer at Friends of the Earth where she campaigned on environmental issues. Over the past 20 years she has been involved in various fundraising efforts such as Gujurat Indian Earthquake appeal, Tsunami and the South Asian Earthquake. Irm has helped setup the EmptyHands Foundation last year which has raised funds for the Tsunami in Japan.

On a professional level Irm is an Investment Banking Consultant with an academic background in Social Policy, Politics & Economics. Much of her life has involved travelling to various parts of the world both on a personal and business level. She has helped young graduates in developing countries as part of her profession by hiring and training individuals.
